DeSean Brewer

DeSean is a senior majoring in Media Communications and a member of the Nevada State Student Alliance at Nevada State College. He specializes in social media marketing because he enjoys creating compelling storytelling content. As a marketing coordinator, he uses his judgment and innovative skills to create positive change within the marketing workplace. When he thinks of Las Vegas it reminds him of a broken home that is rebuilding the culture it once had and with the help of the community it is being developed with everyone in mind. For DeSean, his community pours into him through many ways such as valuable resources, connections, and ongoing guidance towards better opportunities. As someone who spends a lot of time volunteering and showing out for his people, doing community work is an important aspect of who he is. It completes the balance in his life that makes him genuinely happy. He feels the need to be in this position because many people have invested their time into him so he could be the change he looks for in the world.
By the end of the year, DeSean hopes to inspire the youth to show up more within their respective communities through his own actions and commitment to higher excellence. He vows to always be a testament to good faith and consistency for the young entrepreneurs behind him. One of his personal goals is to embrace his eternal light to be able to continue impacting college students and families of the Las Vegas community. As for up and coming entrepreneurs, he advises them to “Just do it” and be about that action so you can see your dreams come to fruition. Do not allow the limiting beliefs of others to dim the goals you have for yourself. “People will not value your craft until you respect it, so do yourself a favor and start shooting for the stars so every idea lands on the moon!”
